Hi, I’m Byron Carlock, President & CEO of CNL Lifestyle Properties. I am very pleased
to announce that CNL Lifestyle Properties has acquired Wet’n’Wild Hawaii (formerly
Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park) in Kapolei, on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Wet’n’Wild
Hawaii features Shaka, “the world’s wildest half-pipe;” Volcano Express, a 5 ½ story
slide where four riders race to the finish line; and Tornado, a 130-foot tunnel
with a 50-foot drop. The 29-acre property can accommodate 6,000 guests, making it
a significant water park by world standards.
We purchased this property from a subsidiary of Village Roadshow Limited (VRL:AU),
a publicly traded global entertainment and media company based in Melbourne, Australia.
Village Roadshow will continue to operate the property under a long-term triple-net
lease for a term of 20 years with six five-year renewal options. Village Roadshow
plans to open a second Wet’n’Wild water park this summer in Phoenix, Arizona.
We are pleased to add Wet’n’Wild Hawaii to our diverse portfolio of 115 lifestyle
properties and look forward to building our relationship with Village Roadshow.
